Turbos For C15 Cat Acert4/23/2021
All of our manifolds are cast out of a proprietary high quality blended steel, one of the hardest and most heat tolerant metals available today. The joints have been designed with tighter tolerances, 50 more surface contact, and are press fit to ensure that they never leak. With thousands of hours of work by our engineering team, we have eliminated the sharp turns and twists to create smooth airflow to the turbo. Then we apply our high temperature resistant CeramiChrome coating to not just make them eye appealing but to add another heat barrier that keeps the exhaust gas energy moving to your turbo to improve turbo response.
No manifold goes out the door without being flow tested to insure that they flow at least 20 Cubic Feet of air per Minute (CFM) more per port. This fits many CAT C15 ACERT diesel engines, but the only way to 100 guarantee compatibility would be to look up any OEM. I also know what the other guys have been telling you is from their hearts and should definitely be listened to. Turbos For C15 Cat Acert Full Of ProblemsThe sensor harness on both sides but mainly behind the exhaust to the front os full of problems after being so hot from the heat from the exhaust. The intake accuators is full of problems. The rocker bolts was a problem with breaking but may have them all updated by now.Plus they ant gettingf the fuel mileage that they should be.Bu you can blame the EPA for helping us on this engine. Theres a whole valley full of them over here, all friends, and only a few havent experienced it.yet. I have seen two turbos go at once and cost as much as 10 grand but some get by for half that. The problem is they run extremely hot in an effort to burn cleaner. Mine cracked a liner under warranty and all cat would pay for was 1 liner. Mechanic at cat is old friend and he advised me to get rid of it as there is no reasonable cure and since cat is now out of the truck business help from them is almost non-existent. The best you can do is have 10 grand in a bank account to deal with things that crop up. One major problem and you are going to be in serious trouble, looseing the truck will just be the start, the finance company will wholesale it in the condition that you left it, then you will be hit with a judgement for the differance between the wholesale (scrap price) and what you owe. These engine are bankrupting big companys, how are you going to do better. Look at it this way, how do you think we know all this I have lost my a 6 ways from Sunday. Buy a lot of tools Most important, when you have trouble call one (or ten) of us before you do anything. Ill have the whole engine and instalation for less than what your talking for a turbo. We have 5 acerts out of 26 trucks and sure dont want any more. Dont forget,if the 1st turbo comes apart, the pieces will knock out the 2nd one too. I like the new Cummins lack of bs on the outside of the engine though. I know they have had issues too, with the emission crap on them. I will be 65 in a few days so my old N-14 is going to take me to the end. I sure would not want to have to fight all of this new stuff including carrying tank of urea on truck. Wayne. Thats the best example of a Acert Ive ever seen I loved the money I made working on Acerts but hated every minute of working on one. Worse than working on one was giving the poor guy his bill and seeing the look of regret from his engine choice. Tim, The 2011 Duramax and the 2011 Ford both have urea systems. I think the Cummins Dodge Blu-Tec system still gets by without it for 2011. Well also have a whole new round of crap with the EPA fuel economy regulations passed just today for diesel pick-ups and heavy duty trucks. ![]()
